Community Presentations

Promoting MSGC continues in the community with the Director and Assistant Director making presentations about MSGC programs at local schools, NASA-related activities, and state-sponsored teacher events. A detailed list of these presentations will be highlighted in this year's CMIS report.

MSGC collaboration continues among its legislative contacts with Maryland Senate and House representatives at the Federal and State levels; and interface with JHU Federal & State Laision representatives.

MSGC Assistant Director continues membership on Maryland Science Center's Scientific and Educational Council. Communication with Flavio Mendez, Director of Maryland Space Place at MSC is on going. MSGC promotes "Teacher Thursdays", scientific lectures held once a month for teachers.

Land, Sea, and Space Grant Initiative continues to move forward. MSGC has initiated steps to involve these three institutions in a collaborative effort to examine areas where aerospace science, math, and technology education may overlap among the three. Several meetings have been held among designated representatives of each organization, and a draft Memorandum of Understanding has been approved by the Directors of all three organizations. Further efforts are temporarily on hold, awaiting Sea Grant's appointment of a new Associate Director of Science.
